Our Mission

We are a 501(c) organization dedicated to providing toys and other care items to childhood cancer patients undergoing treatment. Based out of Atlanta, we support metro-area hospitals by delivering items like movies, video games, toys, and gift cards.

100% of all donations go directly into supporting families confronted by childhood illness.

Compassion

We work with families, hospitals and other charitable organizations to provide toys to kids undergoing intensive medical treatments. We know the positive impact simple comforts can make in tough times.

Charity

Donations go directly to items like toys, movies, and video games for pediatric oncology centers to give to patients. We also give out things like gift cards and vouchers for entertainment and family outings.

Community

We hold motorcycle rides, brunches, auctions, and other events each year. Everything we do comes with the help and support of local businesses and community organizations that we appreciate so much.

Today was a very special and emotional day! Today we made our very first toy delivery to M.D. Anderson in Houston, Texas! This is a full circle moment as M.D. Anderson is where Joey’s cancer journey began. We have an amazing group of friends who have volunteered to be the “Joey’s Toy Box Lonestar”. They will be our “boots on the ground” in Texas. If we ever have a family from Atlanta travel to Houston for treatment they will know that they have “family” waiting to take care of them, they will have comfort in knowing that they are not all alone. While we started Joey’s journey at M.D. Anderson the first year and a half of his treatment was done at Driscoll Children’s Hospital in Corpus Christy. When we reached out to M.D Anderson we discovered that this full circle moment was even bigger than we realized. The doctor in the photograph is Dr. Mejia. Dr. Mejia was the doctor on the beach who saved Robby’s life the day he was attacked by a shark. He is now in charge of the Pediatric ICU at M.D Anderson. We would like to thank the Los Carnales/La Familia Point Blank chapter for choosing Joeys Toy Box as their charity. And we would like to thank Toys for Tots of Ft. Bend for donating toys to a M.D Anderson family we adopted for Christmas this year. We look forward to seeing what the future brings, as Joey’s dream continues,...now in Texas.

Joey’s Toy Box had so much fun today at the Aflac Cancer Center at Scottish Rite. We had so much fun making play-doh with the kids. They even got to pick out their favorite Essential Oil scent to place in their play-doh. At the end of the day we left all of the sample oils and blended roller ball oils with the Child Life Specialist to hand out to various families to help aid them in their Childhood Cancer Journey. Your donation dollars at work!

Normally Joey’s Toy Box is in attendance but this year, we decided that while this declaration is being made we will be out and about in our community bringing Awareness to Childhood Cancer by painting business windows and placing Gold Ribbons throughout Ashley Park Newnan. If you would like to help “Color Our Community Gold” today, we will be at Ashley Park starting at 10:30. September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month!

Before a Childhood Cancer touched our family I had no clue...sure, I saw the St. Jude commercials and cried, but I had no idea... When your Child is diagnosed with Childhood Cancer it drops you to your knees. Your life as you knew it is forever changed. Your role as a parent is forever changed. Your world becomes full of Doctors and hospitals. Your family becomes somewhat isolated. You constantly live in fear. You pray until you can no longer pray. When an answer to a prayer is YES, it is a miracle, when the answer is NO, well... You learn to completely walk by Faith. Some days it’s extremely easy and other days you want to ask God what the heck he is thinking. It is a rollercoaster of highs and lows. It is a journey that I would not wish on my worst enemy yet it is a beautiful gift. September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. There are several ways you can help Joey’s Toy Box bring Childhood Cancer to light: 1). A yard sign. We are selling these for $15 and will deliver. 2) Paint your business Windows with Gold Ribbons. We can do it for you or provide you with the paint to do it yourself (we will even come clean) 3) Join is as we travel back to the old west as we kick off the month of September with our Wild, Wild West Casino Night. 8/31 4) Joey’s Ride 11th Annual Motorcycle Ride 9/2 5) purchase a Belk ticket for $5 and take advantage of Belks specials during their Charity Event day

About us

JTB was founded by our son, Joey Doolittle. Joey was a lifelong cancer warrior who was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma at only 3 months of age. Throughout Joey's life, he underwent numerous chemotherapy protocols, surgeries, and radiation treatments. Toys provided by the hospitals always seemed to make his treatments a little more bearable. During the twilight of Joey's young life, when he was the sickest, he decided to conduct a fundraiser to raise money to buy the other kids at the hospital toys. On June 7, 2008, Joey raised $1,800 by organizing a "cycle-a-thon" at a local gym in Peachtree City, GA. A few days later, Joey made his first and only delivery of toys to the AFLAC Children's Cancer Center at Scottish Rite hospital in Atlanta. On July 4, 2008, after a lifetime battle against cancer, Joey peacefully passed away in his mother's arms.

Joey's impact on his family, friends, and other childhood cancer patients continues to evolve and flourish. His simple dream of helping the other kids and their families continues to live on because of the incredible community of volunteers that have felt Joey in their hearts. With no paid employees, we are a 100% volunteer army dedicated to the JTB mission. We operate this way so that we can put every dollar towards helping these kids and their families. We have dedicated ourselves to being good stewards of the money, time, and efforts of our volunteer community. We will continue Joey's mission with the compassion and integrity that he had when he started it... simple as that.
