Our Mission

We are a 501(c) organization dedicated to providing toys and other care items to childhood cancer patients undergoing treatment. Based out of Atlanta, we support metro-area hospitals by delivering items like movies, video games, toys, and gift cards.

100% of all donations go directly into supporting families confronted by childhood illness.

We work with families, hospitals and other charitable organizations to provide toys to kids undergoing intensive medical treatments. We know the positive impact simple comforts can make in tough times.

Donations go directly to items like toys, movies, and video games for pediatric oncology centers to give to patients. We also give out things like gift cards and vouchers for entertainment and family outings.

We hold motorcycle rides, brunches, auctions, and other events each year. Everything we do comes with the help and support of local businesses and community organizations that we appreciate so much.

This video was a tough one for me to watch. I have done each and every one of these thing's, and then some. I started s HIT class at my gym a few months ago. One evening our trainer had us do wall squats, to my surprise it was actually something I could do, it provided me with a few minutes to breathe. About mid way through that first squat it hit me like a ton of lead, I could easily do the wall squat because I had done it many, many times. Usually in the shower at the hospital. It was all I could do to push myself through the rest of that workout and I totally lost it driving home that evening. As a Mom (or Dad) I think we have all had days where we hid in the shower trying to compose ourselves. Please join us on Saturday, May 5th for the Joey's Toy Box Spring Brunch where we will honor Mom's, the good, the bad and the ugly. You can purchase your ticket at the link below or you can purchase a physical ticket from me, Shirley Stephens McCandless, Joyce Clason Smith, Linda Ramage, Chelsea Smith or Ashley Kraft. Tickets are only $20 and we are receiving some very nice silent auction items for you to bid on. https://m.bpt.me/event/3355371

Oh NO!!! My Mom is speaking at the Joey’s Toy Box Brunch in May and she said that she is thinking about talking about me, her “fur” baby. Just remember, if she says anything bad about me, it is ultimately her fault! I mean she’s my Mom so ultimately she’s responsible, right... -Lucy Joey’s Toy Box Brunch Saturday, May 5, 2018 Doors open at 10:00 Brunch served at 11:00 Location: Cornerstone United Methodists Church 2956 Sharpsburg McCollum Rd Newnan, GA 30265 Tickets $20.

I’m sitting here thinking about the question I am always asked, “How did/do you do it?” I had to laugh, I remember sitting in the hospital one day talking to Tom, Tommy was in Florida being taken care of by family, Robby was in the PICU and Joey was getting his chemotherapy. We were trying to convince ourselves not to get down because there is always someone out there who “has it worse”. We started laughing because we were afraid that if we looked that phrase up, there would be a picture of us. How did we do it??? Please join us on Saturday, May 5th for the Joey’s Toy Box Brunch, I will attempt to answer this question as we celebrate JTB’s 10th Anniversary and Honor Moms. You can purchase your $20 ticket online at https://m.bpt.me/event/3355371 or you can purchase a physical ticket from Me, Shirley, Joyce, Chelsea, Linda, or Ashley. If you would like to donate an item for our silent auction, just let us know and we will be happy to pick up the item.

Please join us on Saturday, May 5, 2018 for the Joey’s Toy Box Brunch Honoring Mom’s. Joey’s Toy Box will also be celebrating our 10th Anniversary. As a Mom who traveled a Cancer Journey with her child, I am often asked: How do you do it? I will try to answer that question. I will confess, it wasn’t always easy. Some days I nailed it and others I failed miserably. This event is for anyone! While we may have a bit of “fancy” food, we will also have some good old fashioned smoked BBQ. Tickets are $20. There will also be a silent auction and raffles. Click on the link below to purchase your tickets online or see Shirley, Linda, Chelsea, Joyce or Kim (me) https://m.bpt.me/event/3355371

About us

JTB was founded by our son, Joey Doolittle. Joey was a lifelong cancer warrior who was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma at only 3 months of age. Throughout Joey's life, he underwent numerous chemotherapy protocols, surgeries, and radiation treatments. Toys provided by the hospitals always seemed to make his treatments a little more bearable. During the twilight of Joey's young life, when he was the sickest, he decided to conduct a fundraiser to raise money to buy the other kids at the hospital toys. On June 7, 2008, Joey raised $1,800 by organizing a "cycle-a-thon" at a local gym in Peachtree City, GA. A few days later, Joey made his first and only delivery of toys to the AFLAC Children's Cancer Center at Scottish Rite hospital in Atlanta. On July 4, 2008, after a lifetime battle against cancer, Joey peacefully passed away in his mother's arms.

Joey's impact on his family, friends, and other childhood cancer patients continues to evolve and flourish. His simple dream of helping the other kids and their families continues to live on because of the incredible community of volunteers that have felt Joey in their hearts. With no paid employees, we are a 100% volunteer army dedicated to the JTB mission. We operate this way so that we can put every dollar towards helping these kids and their families. We have dedicated ourselves to being good stewards of the money, time, and efforts of our volunteer community. We will continue Joey's mission with the compassion and integrity that he had when he started it... simple as that.
